Meet our board members
Catherine Beaton
Founder/CEO
Catherine Beaton is passionate about sickle cell disease. Her passion for sickle cell stems from having two siblings with the disease. She saw how her late sister struggled with this disease for many years, especially during a crisis. She has two master’s degrees in business administration (Marketing) and organizational leadership from Columbia Southern University. Catherine hopes to impact the sickle cell community with educational and research content. She loves singing gospel music and dancing.
Jeremiah Chiteri
Director/Program Manager
Jeremiah Chiteri is a solution-driven program manager adding value to transformative change in organizational leadership, global growth, and supporting diverse community development. He is self-motivated with exceptional interactive and administrative skills, and keen on detail. Has been a program manager for 6 years and wields conceptualization skills in program management and vision to strive through its excellence. Has led teams to focus on priorities and deliver quality strategic initiatives to improve Human Service programs. Has experience in guided customization and strategic planning to implement organizational goals efficiently and promptly. He has a bachelor’s degree in Linguistic Studies, a Master’s degree in Public Health, and numerous training in program management skills in the Human Services field.
Arthur Wigar
Accounts Manager
Arthur Wigar is a dedicated professional with a drive for excellence and a rigorous growth mindset. Wigar is a native of Kisumu (Kenya) and graduated from Maseno University with a BA in Economics. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Business Management from Bringham Young University-Idaho and CPA (K) from KCA University. He is an experienced, passionate, and self-motivated accounts manager with excellent analytical and communication skills. Brings strong organizational and supervisory skills and has been successful in managing a variety of accounts.
Alaina Steen
Secretary
Alaina Steen is an early childhood specialist. She enjoys working on the healthy development of children and providing support services to parents when needed. She is also a missionary and has served as the president of several early childhood associations. Her passion is leading groups to meet the needs of children so that they can reach their full potential. She has an education in environmental science and non-traditional education.
Isaac Odeck, MD
Medical Officer, Board Member
Isaac Odeck, MD is a passionate and highly skilled physician who loves to care for his patients. The bonds he builds with his patients over time and the enjoyment he holds in keeping them healthy drive his passion. Dr. Odeck's motivation comes from creating new ideas to improve or make something new. He is a dedicated professional who overcomes challenges, solves problems, and strives for success. He graduated from Kenya Medical Training College. He likes meeting new people and listening to good music.

Jude Ragot
Advocate, Board Member
Jude Ragot holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honors from the University of Nairobi. He was admitted to the bar in 1998. He is a managing partner and founder of Otieno Ragot & Company Advocates. Mr. Ragot has over 22 years of practice in criminal law, commercial law involving all aspects of tort law, labor law, procurement and disposal law, constitutional law, debt collection, insurance claims of all types, conveyancing, environmental law, international commercial law, company law and the litigation that arise in those areas of law. He is an active member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Kenya Law Society, East African Law Society, and FIDA Kenya. He loves swimming, jogging, reading, and making new friends.
